Bill Gradwell, General Manager of ANNEX Distribution, says there is a definite opportunity for businesses positioning themselves within the mobile and wireless market. Amid the company`s list of partner products to distribute is Intel`s Centrino Mobile Technology - designed to make a huge difference to the small to medium-sized business.
Interest over the introduction and increased adoption of Centrino Mobile Technology illustrates the fact that there is a need and renewed appreciation for wireless technology, especially within the SME space.
According to Intel, its Centrino Mobile Technology is built from the ground up for mobility and wireless, and provides businesses in this space with increased freedom and flexibility.
"Productivity is a key issue for most businesses, large or small. The fact is that SME operations have to take a meticulous approach to cutting costs and reducing the total cost of ownership. Coupled with this are security issues, infrastructure management and ensuring a return on investment, all of which characterise the modern working environment," says Gradwell.
Within the Intel portfolio ANNEX concentrates on three main areas - the CPU, the motherboard and the server products. "Along with a sprinkling of network products that the corporation is pushing especially from the establishment of `hotspots` point of view. The processor always seems to drive the technology and we are very focused on Intel from a solution-provision point of view and our strategy is based on helping clients gain value from their solutions, not simply box-dropping.
"Aside from our focus on the server side of the business, which, according to recent statistics, has experienced growth of between 15% and 17% in the South African market, both the white box as well as multinational brand, we are also keen to leverage off the adoption of mobility.
"In fact, we are one of the few vendors to actually offer bare-bone notebook products to the industry and encouraging entrepreneurs to brand and sell the technology. Our intention is to push the Intel mobile CPU, and related technology such as Centrino Processor," he adds.
"A business is able to boost its efficiency levels by leveraging the Centrino technology`s integrated wireless local area network (WLAN) capability and outstanding mobile performance," Gradwell concludes.
