Intel, MS take on signage

Intel and Microsoft have designed an embedded technology platform developed specifically for digital signage applications, reports Digital Signage Expo.

According to the companies, the Intel and Microsoft digital signage platform includes InfoCaster Player content software; which features advanced content management, as well as content synchronisation.

Jose Avalos, director of digital signage for Intel, says: “The Intel Core processor-based system with Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 will enable solution providers to build more reliable digital signage networks, faster.”

Online community drives enterprise CM

Enterprise content management association AIIM has introduced an online community around enterprise records management (ERM), states Information Week.

The ERM Community provides a discussion forum for industry professionals, as well as over 150 wiki pages and blogs by 16 experts.

"The of information mismanagement are on the rise," says Atle Skjekkeland, vice-president of AIIM. "Because of an increased need to retrieve information on demand, control access and confidentiality, and ensure secure retention and destruction, ERM is a critical business necessity."

Higher ed CMS updated

OmniUpdate, a Web content management system (CMS) provider for higher education, has released the latest version of its OU Campus CMS, says Earth Times.

According to the company, Web developers are the primary beneficiary of version 9 because of its faster processing speed and efficiency.

Lance Merker, president and CEO of OmniUpdate, says: "The new release gives Web developers an extremely powerful platform to develop the functionality required today and well into the future.”
