Intel has introduced a new range of processors enabling the broadest range of designs: from the smallest compute stick to wide-screen desktops to mobile workstations.
According to the company, the 6th generation Core processors deliver enhanced performance, long battery life and better graphics.
"The sixth generation Intel Core processors provide the most significant advancement in computing," says Vince Resente, enterprise technology specialist at Intel SA.
Intel has partnered with Microsoft to ensure the Window 10 experiences are delivered on new processors systems and devices, says Resente.
"The new sixth generation processors enable state-of-the-art experiences like voice control and removing the hassle of managing passwords, as well as enhanced security. The combination of 6th Gen Intel Core processors, Windows 10 and the new systems from the PC manufacturers make this the best time to buy a new computer."
While consumers will enjoy more powerful performance and graphics, businesses will find value in enhanced security, boosted power efficiency and wireless docking, he adds.
He points out there are over 500 million PCs that are four to five years old and older - they are slow to wake, their batteries don't last long, and they can't take advantage of all the new experiences available today.
Intel plans to deliver more than 48 processors in the 6th Gen Intel Core processor family in the coming months.
