Johannesburg, 27 Jul 2004

MessageScreen 4.3 provides administrators with added flexibility for virus management, additional layers of spam protection and enhanced end user quarantine management.

United States based IntelliReach Corporation, represented locally by Titan IT, has launched the latest version of their content filtering solution, MessageScreen 4.3. This latest version includes updates for the blacklisting and virus protection features and now also includes the new integration tool for Outlook, called IntelliClient. IntelliReach appliances world wide are updated on the return of a scheduled request from each appliance, from daily virus and rules up-dates to new version releases such as the latest MessageScreen Version 4.3 release.

Nelson Machado, technical director of Titan IT says, "One of the most significant advantages of IntelliReach`s solutions are that all updates are automatically downloaded to all their appliances when the scheduled request receives a positive return allowing the local administrators to continue with their normal daily activities without interruption."

MessageScreen is a sophisticated spam and content filtering solution that runs on Novell GroupWise, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, Sendmail and other messaging platforms. MessageScreen is more sophisticated than other content filtering solutions as it uses advanced lexical scanning and heuristic scoring to analyze the header, body and attachments of messages in order to identify the newest spamming techniques. MessageScreen stops spam, viruses and damaging content at the gateway before entering the network and it has the industry`s highest spam capture rate with virtually zero false positives.

In addition to the updated black-listing functionality and the increased flexibility of the virus options this latest version of MessageScreen also includes IntelliClient for Outlook, which tightly integrates MessageScreen with Outlook. This allows users easy, authenticated access to email quarantines with end users being able to access their quarantine directly from within Microsoft Outlook. For more protection against spam, MessageScreen enables administrators to tie into multiple real-time blacklist layers (RBL) and to ensure maximum flexibility MessageScreen can reject, quarantine or assign a score to emails from senders on the selected blacklists. As an added benefit, the RBL layer can improve appliance performance by scanning email first and eliminating undesired content before entering the system.

MessageScreen 4.3 provides increased flexibility with regards to how encrypted files are scanned. "This improvement in the scanning of encrypted files assists companies with the sending of these files across their email systems even further as administrators can now set an option to pass, park, quarantine or delete the encrypted files," continues Machado. Another feature included in this latest version of MessageScreen gives administrators the ability to delete infected email and their attachments. This latest version allows the virus checking system to always be on, this includes during test mode or when users have filtering disabled.

"MessageScreen 4.3 offers local business` an incredible advantage in combating the ever increasing spam problem that is plaguing the South African workplace at the moment and because the spam, viruses and damaging content is stopped at the gateway of the network the strain on a companies bandwidth is greatly diminished," concludes Machado.
