San Jose, Ca., 04 Nov 2004

Intellisync Corporation, a leading provider of synchronization and mobilization software, today announced a new release of its Intellisync Mobile Suite platform that extends the product`s broad device support to include Windows Mobile-based Smartphones. The latest release of Intellisync Mobile Suite - version 5.5 - also provides improvements both to server scalability and wireless sync performance - plus the ability to monitor and push email across enterprise workgroups without requiring a direct connection to the groupware server.

Intellisync Mobile Suite`s new support of Windows Mobile-based Smartphones reflects Intellisync Corporation`s goal of keeping mobile professionals in touch with essential enterprise data, regardless of device platform. Windows-based Smartphone users can take advantage of Intellisync Mobile Suite`s client "push" capabilities, which use the IP-based network connectivity of Wi-Fi, WAN or LAN networks to deliver "Always There" data - including email and PIM information - to mobile workers.

The latest release of Intellisync Mobile Suite also gives enterprise IT departments the ability to manage Windows Mobile-based Smartphones remotely, from a centralized console - an important feature with the potential of dramatically lowering total cost of ownership (TCO) for Windows Mobile-based Smartphones and other devices such as handhelds and laptop PCs. With the Systems Management component of Intellisync Mobile Suite, IT administrators can automatically deploy and update mobile software over a network, configure devices on an individual and group basis, inventory their mobile device and software assets, back up and restore device data, and take advantage of theft/loss control features that protect data when devices potentially fall into the wrong hands.

"Windows Mobile software for Smartphones enables customers to take advantage of voice calling with the ability to synchronize with PC data and run applications and services to enhance their overall productivity," said Julie Wymetalek, manager of the MPAC program at Microsoft Corp. "Working with Windows Mobile-based Smartphones, Intellisync Mobile Suite helps to ensure that important business and personal e-mail, PIM information and other data is pushed to mobile users, when and where they need the information."

Additional enhancements improve performance, flexibility

The latest release of Intellisync Mobile Suite provides additional advantages for both users and enterprise IT personnel:

* Improved wireless sync performance: On average, the new release of Intellisync Mobile Suite synchronizes wireless enterprise information 20 percent faster than the previous version of the software.

* Better server scalability: Intellisync Mobile Suite`s server now scales for more users, and supports both clustered and fail-over environments. "

* "Workgroup Monitor": This small client, now available through Intellisync Mobile Suite, can monitor groups of users from any PC in the office. When used in conjunction with a hosted Intellisync Mobile Suite service, individual users can now turn off their own PC or take their laptops with them and still have wireless email and PIM access - all without IT involvement. As a result, individual departments can now sync devices with Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes without a direct connection to the groupware server. All that`s needed is a low-end desktop to act as a gateway.

"The latest release of Intellisync Mobile Suite reflects our goal of supporting all of today`s leading mobile device and enterprise application platforms," said Bill Jones, vice president of products for Intellisync Mobile Suite. "Perhaps most importantly, it also gives enterprise IT administrators powerful tools to manage Windows Mobile-based Smartphones as true corporate assets - lowering TCO for these devices by cutting support costs and enforcing security policies."
