Intelsat Wins Awards for Its Industry-Leading Service

Pembroke, Bermuda, 18 Jun 2008

Intelsat, Ltd., the leading provider of commercial satellite services, announced that it has been recognized for its satellite and customer service on two continents.

In May, Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company, named Intelsat Asia-Pacific Satellite Services Provider of the Year. At an awards ceremony for companies that demonstrate best practices in their industry, Intelsat was recognized for its exemplary customer service and performance in 2007.

Intelsat serves the Asia-Pacific region with unsurpassed global interconnectivity through its robust terrestrial and satellite network. Customers gain access to the premier cable neighborhoods in Asia, utilize connectivity to an IP backbone for content delivery to Europe and the Americas, and seamlessly distribute regional programming internationally.

In April, Terrapinn, a business media company and organizer of the annual SatCom Africa Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, recognized Intelsat for pushing the satellite technology envelope. The Innovative Applications for Satellite Technology in Africa award honored Intelsat's long-standing leadership in providing a communications infrastructure that has extended voice and data services to the most remote regions of the continent and for Intelsat's support and distribution of the Mindset Network, providing educational television programming services to millions.

Intelsat has been offering innovative solutions to Africa for nearly four decades. Intelsat was the first to introduce satellite services in the region, the first to launch pan-regional broadband networks in many African nations and most notably, Intelsat was the first satellite operator to bring cellular backhaul services to the region and also offer satellite technology as an innovative vehicle to expand healthcare and education throughout the continent. Through Intelsat's leadership and foresight, satellite-enabled applications such as cellular backhaul and educational services have become more robust and these applications have now entered a new era.

Intelsat is exhibiting at CommunicAsia 2008, being held in Singapore, 17-20 June, booth 6E2-07. Intelsat CEO Dave McGlade will deliver the keynote address at the CASBAA Conference preceding CommunicAsia on 16 June.
