As part of the Intenda strategy to raise the level of procurement expertise in South Africa, Intenda's Training Academy joined forces with the European Institute of Purchasing Management (EIPM).
EIPM is Europe's leading supply management institute and the source for the most essential information on the profession.
On 6 October 2006, EIPM and Intenda signed a partnership agreement whereby Intenda became the sole agent to implement purchasing supply training and certification programmes in South Africa.
"The EIPM is honoured to be involved in such fascinating programmes and very proud to propose its different learning methods and expertise," says Bernard Gracia, EIPM Director.
The learning portal is dedicated to present the EIPM blended learning process, the EIPM state of the art distance learning tools and the EIPM expertise through the EIPM main Web site.
Intenda will offer Certified Advanced Purchasing Courses (CAPC) that includes the following: CAPC New Comers which equips participants with the tools to manage a purchasing portfolio; CAPC Expert Buyers which equips buyers, project buyers as well as plant buyers, who are responsible for major portfolios with advanced purchasing tools to manage the purchasing function; and CAPC Purchasing Manager is designed for those with advanced managerial responsibilities. These courses are more practically-based which means it's more appealing to students as they can relate easier.
On completion of each course, the student will receive a certificate that will be internationally recognised. "The standard of purchasing will rise tremendously and offer a new dimension to supply management in the South African market.
Those receiving training of this calibre will find that this qualification will most definitely assist in strengthening relationships with suppliers, be cost-effective and obtain international credibility," says Intenda's spokesperson.
As EIPM is accredited by the Association of MBAs, the student will also receive credits towards the highly recognised MBA Degree.
Intenda is bringing these international certifications to the doorstep of the consumer at South African prices.
The first course will be available during July 2007. Any inquires can be referred to Theuns Basson, Training Manager, at (012) 663 8815 or theunsb@intenda.co.za.
