International Colleges Group (ICG), the distance learning division of Naspers Multinational Media Group, has selected Experian as its preferred risk management partner. The deal, which includes Experian credit bureau information, specific components of Experian-Scorex`s Transact customer acquisition software and strategic consultancy solutions, will establish the first comprehensive credit vetting system within the group.
With offices in Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria and Cape Town, ICG is a leader in the customised distance learning solutions field in South Africa, and boasts five well-known colleges, including Damelin Correspondence College, Intec, Lyceum College, and Academy for Mathematics and Science College, that offer accredited Diplomas and Certificates for a wide range of specialised courses.
ICG was looking for a long term risk management partner to assist with the development of appropriate credit policies and procedures, and the upgrade of its existing, disparate credit systems into a central system across business units, using global best practice.
The solution will make use of Experian-Scorex`s Credit Bureau Manager (CBM) software, enabling immediate connectivity to Experian Credit Bureau. Experian-Scorex will also assist ICG with various aspects of credit consultancy through the development of scoring expertise and credit policies.
Craig Nel, Credit Manager with ICG, said: "The International Colleges Group is proud to announce its strategic partnership with Experian. This partnership will benefit both customers and staff, and supports an ICG business philosophy that has, for the past 98 years, yielded customised learning solutions to more than 300 000 accredited, work-ready individuals for the South African corporate sector.
It is a step that builds on the strong foundations we have set in place in the International Colleges Group. It represents a new era - a new future. We welcome our partners and we look forward to their contribution as we help shape the minds and skills of South Africans and the rest of Africa."
Suzanna Bailey, Head of CRM & Sales with Experian South Africa, said: "We are excited to welcome ICG as one of our key clients. We believe that our expertise, software solutions and understanding of ICG`s key business drivers will enable ICG to meet its business objectives."
