Metrofile, South African market leader in the management of business records, will shortly launch a new online storage and document retrieval service named MetroHost.
Powered by the document management and imaging solution of CVS Online, converged communications service provider Internet Solutions (IS) will provide managed hosting and online storage at its data centres across the country.
MetroHost takes existing solutions from the three companies to another level and in addition to secure and managed storage, delivers the right documents to the right people at the right time in a Web-based environment.
"Metrofile has established itself as the leader in document and record management. Our skills lie in providing our customers with conversion from paper to images on CDs or microfilm and on site or off site secure storage. Customers wanted systems that would deliver the right document to the correct person on demand and according to secure authorisation processes. CVS Online has the software and IS has the reliable and resilient infrastructure for delivery," says Paul Mullon, divisional director at Metrofile.
CVS Online Web Imaging Solution is a full document imaging solution that makes existing paper documents and stored images available to authorised staff, clients and suppliers worldwide over the user`s office intranet and the Internet. "Together with IS, we enable document retrieval and sharing instantly available to ends users 24/7," says Andre Morse, CEO of CVS Online. "Centralised managed hosting and storage together with standards-based document management and authentication systems allow Web delivery of document images direct to the desktop with no delays at a very low cost."

With Metrofile`s knowledge of the document management market, and CVS Online`s skills in delivering document images to authorised users, customers can be assured of the integrity and efficient storage of their documents at all times."

Metrofile is uniquely positioned to provide consulting and implementation of full lifecycle paper and electronic records management solutions from storage and conversion through to destruction.
CVS Web-Imaging
The CVS "Web-Imaging" Solution has been developed locally as a unique product with no rivals in the marketplace.
It was initially developed to assist with customer verification for the financial services and major chain store sectors to combat fraud.
Copies of ID documents and signatures being made available online, within milliseconds, enabling tellers and till operators to verify that their customers are who they say they are, and ensure they are properly authorised to conduct the requested transaction.
The CVS "Web-Imaging" Solution has been enhanced into a full document imaging solution; allowing for existing paper documents to be converted to digital images, centrally stored to the respective repository, and subject to the applicable business rules. These stored images are then available to authorised staff, clients and suppliers worldwide over the user`s office intranet and the Internet (again subject to security and business rules).
