Internet Solutions (IS), a leading converged communications service provider, has announced the release of corporate Internet data bundles over the MTN network.
This extends the existing HSDPA offering based on the Vodacom network which was released last year. These data bundles are aimed at, and built for, companies only.
Solutions designed for corporate consumers/employees have allowed companies to reduce the risk normally associated with Internet data bundles, due to the introduction of comprehensive user management tools, data aggregation and lower out-of-bundle rates.
Brett Steingo, General Manager for Mobile Solutions at IS, says: "In the last few months, we have seen some movement in prices on data from both Vodacom and MTN. For the first time, however, recent movements have seen MTN lower their rates while Vodacom rates simultaneously increased. The result has made it attractive for us to offer MTN corporate HSDPA solutions in line with our already very successful Vodacom model. Even though we expect to continue growing our existing Vodacom subscribers organically and through new deals, we also expect that at least 30% of new clients will take up the MTN offerings."
Internet Solutions believes that there are small but real differences between Vodacom and MTN's data networks in terms of speed and coverage. Companies or users can, therefore, identify the geographical strengths of each network in areas relevant to them. As a result, IS believes it will be beneficial to be able to offer both networks using a single management platform and aggregated data across both networks.
"As an independent provider with access to both Vodacom and MTN services, Internet Solutions has the advantage of being able to advise on the best network to use in order to meet specific client requirements. Most large clients require at least some users on each network. IS significantly simplifies the management of these users and provides data aggregation across both operators. This level of integration is entirely unique to IS and the offering is completed by the release of MTN-based data bundles," concludes Steingo.
