IT solutions provider Iocore has appointed Innocent Khumalo, former Maurice Kerrigan & Associates head of sales, to its executive committee, in line with its black economic empowerment (BEE) strategy.
CEO Mervin Bateman says Iocore`s executive team is addressing the issue of empowerment.
"We are taking careful and intelligent steps forward and are paying close attention to this challenge," he says.
"We are forming BEE partnerships and are ensuring that Iocore is favourably viewed in terms of its own empowerment credentials."
He says company consolidation is another focus area for this year, and Khumalo is responsible for consolidating and integrating Iocore`s sales and marketing opportunities across its solutions divisions.
"It is our culture to grow and develop our staff competency at all levels. Our policy is to up-skill rather than to employ externally. Khumalo`s deserving appointment was an internal one and falls in line with the company`s initiative to promote more staff."
