IOCORE`s e-Learning adds Oracle, SAP to its solution offerings

Johannesburg, 19 Feb 2003

The South African e-learning landscape is changing, and IOCORE with its team of e-learning experts has contextualised the resulting demands and grown its e-learning offerings to present the market with an extended set of technology and implementation solutions.

"In almost every enterprise, the demand for e-learning is growing," says Alison North, IOCORE General Manager - e-Learning. "Where traditional, niche learning management system (LMS) vendors once dominated in the delivery of these solutions, enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendors and powerhouse technology companies are also entering the arena with their own differentiated offerings, vying for the opportunity to present organisations with an e-learning delivery platform."

Where IOCORE`s e-Learning offerings originally focused on its LMS solution of choice, TopClass, the division recently added implementation and value-add services for products from the ERP stable, namely Oracle`s i-Learning and SAP LMS. In doing so, the division has capitalised on existing relationships, providing a holistic technology and service offering that best meets the technical and business strategy requirements of IOCORE`s clients.

"This development positions IOCORE as the leading e-learning solution provider in the country," says North. She says this is supported by strong project management, strategic consulting and customer service that are part and parcel of all IOCORE solutions.

North highlights the added value that IOCORE`s e-Learning offerings bring to the market:

"From our range of solution offerings, we are able to compile a solution roadmap taking into account the short-, medium- and long-term goals of an organisation both from a business and a technology perspective.

"Our experience in the market has taught us that end-user adoption is key to making this kind of solution work in an organisation. As a result, we also offer a specialist service around creating buy-in and adoption of the technology to maximise an organisation`s investment."

Another key differentiator, according to North, is IOCORE`s comprehensive analysis of all aspects of an organisation`s learners and learning environment, which guides the implementation of a customer-specific e-learning solution.

"The South African learning environment is increasingly driven by the legislative requirements as outlined by the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the Skills Development Act," she says. "A distinct component of our offerings is to help an organisation meet these requirements, and therefore realise a return, such as that associated with the Skills Development Levy."

North says IOCORE`s solution scenarios enable its clients to align their LMS spend with their IT strategy. Couple this with its virtual classroom product capability, Centra - which integrates with all three LMS offerings - and the result is a highly competitive presence in a rapidly growing market.
