
iPhone gets project management
Compuware has revealed Changepoint 2010, a major release of its project portfolio management and professional services automation solution, states Market Watch.
Changepoint 2010 offers support for mobile devices such as the Blackberry and iPhone.
"Project portfolio management solutions and disciplines are valuable in many domains, including product development and professional services, not just engineering or IT," says Matt Light, VP of research at Gartner.
OnePoint drives Web 2.0 PM
Project management vendor Onepoint Software is driving its Web 2.0-based solutions for the extended enterprise, namely Onepoint Project Enterprise Server solution and Onepoint Project Enterprise Cloud, reports TMCnet.
It has been selected by IT analyst firm Gartner as one of the companies included in the 2010 magic quadrant for IT project and portfolio management.
In the years 2009 and early 2010, Onepoint focused primarily on improving formal project management according to set standards, but now its focus is to integrate agile with formal project management.
NextiraOne builds advanced platform in Europe
Communications services company NextiraOne has signed a contract with Polish telco Exatel to ramp up its network, says IT News Online.
The project is due to start in July and be completed within seven months.
The agreement covers the building of a modern SuperCore platform allowing all services offered by Exatel on the IP MPLS frame network to be migrated to 40Gbps lines in Poland and a 10Gbps connection to Frankfurt, based on Cisco technology solutions.
