IQ Health in A$2m alliance with Optum

IQ Health has forged a strategic alliance with Australian knowledge management group, Optum. The deal is expected to be worth A$2 million in the first two years.

IQ Health, part of the IQ Business Group, will with Optum on a shared and reward basis.

Optum will leverage technology from IQ`s Healthe e-commerce product to further develop Optum`s Web-Doctor suite of products.

Web-Doctor facilitates e-commerce transactions, financial processing and secure management for medical practices.

"This is further endorsement of IQ Health`s capacity to deliver systems and solutions that are on the cutting edge of what is being demanded by the global health market," says IQ Health MD Colin Bridge.

"IQ Health provides a real value proposition towards maximising the management of the health event and containing spiralling costs of healthcare across the world. The technology developed by Optum will be made available in SA as well."

According to Rob King, executive director of Optum Group Australia, the alliance is an exciting step.

"With the successful launch of Web-Doctor, we were looking to deliver the real value e-health makes available to general practitioners, medical centres and consumers," says King.

"The alliance with IQ Health endorses Optum`s business focus to add significant value to the e-health business processes, while generating profit from recurring business transactions."

IQ Health posted a turnover of R73 million for the past 18 months and reflected a 567% increase in profits. Growth for 2000 is expected to be 60%, with turnover reaching R100 million.
