Internet Solutions (IS) has added three new points-of-presence (POPs) to its African network, introducing services in Lesotho, Swaziland and Malawi, boosting its capacity to support businesses on the continent.
The POPs enable businesses to access the company's high-capacity network - a move described by IS as demonstrating opportunities for networking growth in Africa.
Julian Sunker, IS chief operating officer, says the company aims to increase its infrastructure footprint to ensure it delivers affordable connectivity and services to local and international clients across Africa.
"To deliver on our African growth strategy, we will continue to invest in infrastructure assets through owned build-outs, as well as acquisitive investments, as appropriate for each market," says Sunker.
IS's geographic footprint for multi-protocol label switching services includes POPs in Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho and Swaziland.
According to the company, its presence in a further 14 other countries provides services using network-to-network interfaces and partners.
Sunker adds the telecoms infrastructure is critical to enabling IS to provide solutions and services across Africa.
