IS Education gains double ATC status

By Internet Solutions
Johannesburg, 25 Feb 1999

IS Education, the training arm of The Internet Solution (IS), has announced it has become an authorised training centre (ATC) for both Check Point and Macromedia.

Check Point is the world`s leading firewall supplier, and two courses, the CCSA (Check Point Certified Security Administrator) and the CCSE (Check Point Certified Security Engineer) are now offered by IS Education. According to IS Education Manager, John East, there is more demand for qualified security experts than the market can currently supply. "The availability of these courses will alleviate some of the strain placed on companies requiring competent firewall engineers and administrators - of whom there is currently a major shortage in South Africa. Becoming a Checkpoint ATC also ensures that we can add maximum value to Dimention Data Security division by completing the solutions and products they offer." he says.

On the Macromedia side, courses for three different applications - Dreamweaver (a wysiwyg editor which allows for DHTML), Fireworks (a graphic design application) and Flash (a Web animation tool which makes use of vector graphics) are now available. Says East: "The widespread use of Internet and Intranet applications will demand that companies have suitably qualified individuals to design maintain and renew these resources. As more orgaisations take on the responsibility for the development and maintenance of their Web sites there need to be more effective and intuitive tools. As this increases so the training required to maximise the productivity of these tools and ultimately ensure a return on investment in a Web site initative." he says.

The courses are available now and interested parties should contact IS Education (education@is.co.za).
