iSync unveils the next version prototype of its job costing suite

Johannesburg, 14 May 2010

iSyncSolutions' flagship product, Sync, has come a long way since its humble beginnings with Microsoft's .NET 1.0 and SQL Server 2000. Over the years it has managed to progress and adapt to the ever-changing technological landscape and business requirements of its clients, and has evolved into the powerful product costing and stock system it is today.

Building on the lessons learned from the decade-long software development life cycle of Sync 1-3, Sync 4's core has been redesigned from the ground up, gearing up for the realm of SOA (services-oriented architecture).

It will be built on version 4 of the .NET framework, SQL Server 2008, and will employ WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) for its Web-service architecture.

Leveraging on the latest in software development technology, this new architecture will offer a multitude of advantages, both from the developers and the end-users' viewpoints. For example, utilising some of the new groundbreaking C# language features (LINQ and extension methods to name a few), many new possibilities have been opened up to the developer that in the past would have taken considerably longer to achieve. This allows for richer interface design and more scope for data manipulation on the client and server side, which results in increased end-user productivity.

With the evolution of WCF, communication between client and business/data access layers also becomes a smooth and transparent one, reaping the benefits of all Microsoft's distributed technologies in one, all-encompassing framework.

In summary, Sync 4 will have:

* An improved, highly flexible user interface for all Sync modules
* Better data access control, especially with regards to performance and issues of connectivity/data concurrency
* A more sophisticated data layer for remote access (remote clients and online services)
* An improved model for future extensibility and scalability

If you are in the clothing, corporate and promotional clothing, interior design or mechanical engineering industries, you can benefit from this revolutionary job costing and project management system. View our press office on ITWeb for more information.
