IT-EM launched dual low frequency RFID technology into the conference market for the first time in August 2004 at the Microsoft Partner Summit Conference. This was the first commercial implementation of the RFID technology. Our solution has since been used at numerous conferences during the past year.
Our solution makes use of our Smooth RFID conference software that interacts with the RFID reader. The RFID reader transmits at 125kHz and can read up to 120 tags simultaneously and 30 tags per second. Having this speed of data collection, we have built a lot of intelligence into our software solution. All readers can read a maximum distance of 3m with 98% accuracy.
Due to the still high costs of purchasing RFID equipment, we have implemented a rental solution that makes this technology cost-effective within the conference industry. We recommend this solution for conference managers that are really interested in making use of the data that is collected.
