In support of the increasing demand for high-level training on Novell products, Eastern Province-based Novell Authorised Education Centre (NAEC) IT-IQ recently certified three students in the Master Certified Novell Engineer (MCNE) programme.
"While the MCNE certification is in itself a highly sought-after qualification, we are particularly proud of students Gavin Schaeffer of Telkom, and Michael Stow of the Heath Special Investigating Unit, who obtained certification on two tracks," says IT-IQ branch manager Tania Mourant.
Schaeffer, who completed the self-study course, had only high praise for the programme. "The MCNE programme is a must for anyone involved in networking," he says. "Although the study programme is intense and the final exam tough, the end-result more than justifies all the hard work. I acquired new knowledge and learned new skills, all which have been of tremendous benefit in my work."
The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) also sent a group of 10 students to IT-IQ recently to complete the Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) programme. According to student Werner Rust, the course was excellently presented, with much emphasis on practical application. "The newly acquired skills are easy to apply in the workplace," he says.
"Training is critical to Novell`s continued success in the market place," says Novell services manager: education Manoj Bhoola. "NAECs such as IT-IQ play an integral role in this initiative, enabling Novell to grow its business by growing the people."
