IT Management Forum debates IT solutions

Isaca, a non-profit association of 75 000 IT governance professionals worldwide, will present the IT Audit Management Forum, the Information Security Management Forum and the IT Governance Forum-at the end of the month to discuss practical approaches and solutions to the latest strategic IT-related issues, says EV Living.

The three events will share a keynote address by David Cass, vice president of Global Technology Infrastructure Risk Management for JPMorgan Chase and Company.

Cass will discuss how to create opportunities to improve business alignment and enhance value delivery in his presentation on the convergence of IT governance, security and audit.

Companies have increased their investments in risk management and the computing power needed to understand complicated risks, says Information Week.

According to industry reports, poor risk management practices played a role in the financial industry's downturn by unnecessarily exposing companies to dangerous investments and the result could translate into new technology investments for the financial industry.

"Because of the turmoil in the market, those what if scenarios are probably more extreme than you would have in a normal market," said Ricky Higgins, IT director of products and markets for Lloyds, adding that more complicated calculations are testing computer processing limits.
