iTouch signs world-wide content provision deal with 365

iTouch plc, an international mobile service provider with South African roots, has rights to all branded content generated by premier international sports and entertainment content provider, 365 Corporation, for dissemination across its mobile portal platforms.

In South Africa, this means one year`s exclusive rights to all 365 Corp`s content, to be disseminated across all iTouch`s platforms, which include its WAP, interactive voice response (IVR) and short messaging service (SMS) technologies. It also has the right to disseminate 365 content in its other operations, i.e. Australia,

John Dobson, GM of 365, the SA subsidiary of 365 Corp, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, explains that the deal includes all 365`s major sporting brands, i.e. www.football365.com (a soccer information site), www.rugby365.com, www.planet-f1.com (Formula One) and www.cricinfo365.com, but also includes other brands outside of sport. The content provided includes news, results, interviews and other information for the sports fan.

iTouch South Africa managing director, Sean Stegmann and Dobson are agreed that the deal is all about quality content on quality mobile platforms. Whereas 365 SA is the editorial hub of 365 Corp internationally, a universally acclaimed digital content provider with offices and journalists in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the US, Canada, South America and India, iTouch SA acts as the technology hub for iTouch International, they say.

To this, Dobson adds that: "as a predominantly Internet-based content provider, we see a pressing need to broaden the platforms we occupy, to include the fast-growing mobile technologies developed by iTouch. We are partnering with the players who are at the forefront of the technology that is showing some of the biggest potential on the digital publishing front."

He says the ubiquity and ease of use of iTouch`s mobile offerings have made the decision even easier.
