ITS Abacus' o! timetabling products impress clients

Johannesburg, 02 Jun 2009

A number of institutions have given the “thumbs-up” to the o! range of timetabling products from ITS Abacus, a subsidiary of ITS Holdings.

Last year, the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, installed the o!Exam product from ITS Abacus. The system was used to generate examination timetables for the end of year examinations in 2008, and the success of this exercise resulted in Maynooth recently deciding to also acquire and install o!Class, the class timetable solution. Implementation of o!Class has recently commenced, aiming to have it fully installed and commissioned by 2010.

Vaal University of Technology acquired both the o!Exam and o!Class products in 2008. o!Exam is now in full use, while o!Class is currently being used for the second semester class schedules, and the plan is to have it fully implemented by the end of this year.

The University of Botswana acquired the o!Exam and o!Class products towards the end of 2008. Implementation started late last year and the project is targeted for completion after this year's annual enrolment in September.

The o!Class project at the University of Zululand commenced in November 2008 and resumed in February 2009. The project's aim is to have the 2010 class schedule generated by October 2009.
