PeopleSoft has announced that the Columbus-based Borden Foods Corporation, associated locally with the Nestle Cremora brand, has implemented the new PeopleSoft 8 Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), a pure Internet eBusiness analytics suite.
The food corporation, a supplier of branded pasta, pasta sauces and meals, bouillon and soup mixes, is live with PeopleSoft Balanced Scorecard and Enterprise Warehouse and according to local PeopleSoft managing director, Jan Coetzee, it will implement PeopleSoft Customer Profitability later this year, with production starting on Supply Chain Management and Financial Planning workbenches in the future.
Coetzee explains that as key modules within the implemented EPM, Balanced Scorecard and Enterprise Warehouse will help Borden employees make more informed business decisions. These modules enable the company to communicate internal strategy and company objectives to all its employees through a system of key performance indicators drawn from financial measures, customer insight, internal business processes, and workforce factors.
"Using PeopleSoft Balanced Scorecard, Borden Foods employees can examine and measure their own performance by incorporating Borden standards into everyday business decisions," he states.
"Furthermore," he continues, "this comprehensive, integrated suite of eBusiness analytics applications allow businesses to better manage investments in employees, customer relationships, and supply chains, as well as proactively improve business performance, and co-ordinate execution of strategy."
Borden is using PeopleSoft Enterprise Warehouse to draw from PeopleSoft applications as well as other enterprise and legacy systems. Enterprise Warehouse enables Borden to organise, store and present information for analysis via the Web in a customisable and easily accessible environment.
Jim Zetwick, business systems director of Enabling Services at Borden Foods gives a similar perspective, "PeopleSoft`s Scorecard and Warehouse will provide all Borden Foods associates a mechanism to review business results through our corporate intranet. This capability will help us to understand the drivers of our success. Each associate is an important piece of the puzzle. PeopleSoft`s applications serve as an enabling tool that aligns our associates with company objectives," he comments.
Coetzee adds to this that Borden is impressed with PeopleSoft`s consulting as it played a key implementation role to demonstrating how Balanced Scorecard and Enterprise Warehouse facilitates tracking and monitoring of set objectives. "Moreover the Enterprise Performance Management products integrate seamlessly with the other PeopleSoft applications at Borden, maintaining the flexibility to add information from internal and external data sources."
"PeopleSoft`s pure Internet eBusiness analytics applications, including PeopleSoft 8 EPM, are designed to improve employees` access to critical business information," says Coetzee, "empowering and motivating staff and driving corporate performance." He believes that as strategic framework, it will revolutionise operational systems at Borden.
