The Really Awesome Gaming Event (rAge) computer gaming and technology show will take place at the Dome in Northgate from 1 to 3 October.

"This year`s expo will be bigger, offering more entertainment, fun and hotter games," says one of the organisers, Samantha van Rensburg.

"Compared to last year`s 38 exhibitors, we are looking at around 50 exhibitors this year, which is an increase of 20% to 30%."

Among the exhibitors that have already confirmed are Sony PlayStation, EA Games, Naked IT, Cosmic Cosmics, and Rectron.

"Feedback from both the exhibitors and visitors in 2003 was extremely positive, and the event won an award for the best new exhibition," says rAge organiser Michael James.

"rAge 2004 will feature a 500 networked LAN area where gamers can bring in their own PCs and compete against each other. The entry fee is R160, which also gives them access to the expo at no cost. However, they have to pre-register on our Web site to participate," says Van Rensburg.

"Gamers will compete for first place in their respective games, as well as stand a chance of walking away with cash and hardware prizes.

"Gates will be open from 10am to 7pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. The entry fee is R30, and security will be even tighter than last year," she says.
