JD Edwards recognised for leadership in collaborative commerce, contributions to intelligent enterprises

Johannesburg, 08 Jan 2003

JD Edwards recently announced that it has been named one of the "2003 Companies to Watch" by editors of CMP Media`s Intelligent Enterprise Magazine for its leadership in collaborative commerce.

The editors recognised 48 Companies to Watch in 2003 for their strong contributions to the development of intelligent enterprises. Intelligent Enterprise recognises these companies for providing IT products that help organisations achieve competitive advantage by gathering, analysing, sharing and acting upon intelligence.

"JD Edwards has proven it understands the risks and complexities Intelligent Enterprise readers face when implementing high-value collaborative commerce solutions," said Justin Kestelyn, editor-in-chief of Intelligent Enterprise. "Its modular, extensible approach to enabling such solutions makes JD Edwards a Company to Watch in 2003."

JD Edwards President, Chairman and CEO Bob Dutkowksy said: "We are honoured that Intelligent Enterprise recognises the collaborative nature of JD Edwards` solutions and the value we deliver to our customers. JD Edwards` comprehensive family of collaborative enterprise solutions encompasses and services that help make our customers stronger."

"IT and business leaders will increasingly rely on Intelligent Enterprise`s 48 Companies to Watch to make their organisations smarter, faster and more profitable," Kestelyn said.

The Intelligent Enterprise 48 Companies to Watch were chosen after a tremendous amount of research and assessment of the past year`s coverage and reader feedback by the Intelligent Enterprise editorial staff. The final 48 were selected based on their relevance to and potential impact on the strategic IT sector in which they are categorised.

"Rather than base our decisions on just one criterion such as total revenue or name recognition, we look at technology leadership, innovation and satisfaction and sheer influence in areas key to the development of -rich, value-generating IT solutions," said David Stodder, editorial director of Intelligent Enterprise.

JD Edwards is one of only 12 companies honoured for collaborative commerce. The other three award categories included intelligence, integration and infrastructure.

In-depth features about the 48 Companies to Watch will appear in the January 2003 issue of Intelligent Enterprise, as well as on the Web at www.IntelligentEnterprise.com.
