Johnson & Johnson Ethicon gets mobile and stays connected with Marstec

Johnson & Johnson`s Ethicon division sales representatives can stay connected cost-effectively and report directly into their CRM system from wherever they are by using powerful Celesta Smart Forms on the Nokia 9110 Communicator.

Marstec, sole distributor in SA for CCC Mobile`s Celesta solutions, has completed project management and implementation of the Celesta Smart Forms on the Nokia 9110 Communicator solution at Johnson & Johnson`s Ethicon division.

Celesta Smart Forms is a powerful groupware solution for mobile professionals and work groups to store and browse information in easy customisable databases and to exchange data wirelessly using SMS and data calls.

Celesta solutions are developed by CCC Mobile. Headquartered in Oulu, Finland, CCC Mobile is one of the leading companies building software products for mobile phones.

Johnson & Johnson`s Ethicon has sales representatives throughout the country promoting their products to doctors, specialists and hospitals. Ethicon uses the Nokia 9110 Communicator to report on activities and update contact information.

It is the aim of Johnson & Johnson to own the most complete and up-to-date customer database in the country, and Celesta and the Nokia Communicator are the chosen tools to accomplish this goal.

"However, information remains the key driver to any successful customer relationship strategy, and needs to be accurate, live and available real-time."

At each customer contact detailed information of the surgeon`s products usage, hobbies and areas of interest is reflected. Opportunities are also highlighted and these become the sales representative`s objectives, driving the appropriate product detail discussions and conversion.

"We are very excited with the opportunity Celesta Smart Forms and the Nokia 9110 Communicator has provided as well as the flexibility of the programme that can be fine-tuned to cater for our specific needs, which is critical to sustain our competitive advantage, " says Viana.

Marstec has developed four applications for the Nokia Communicator aimed specifically at controlling the representatives` call objectives as well as keeping all contacts` details current. Representatives capture call details, view call objectives and update doctor and contact information.

Information regarding the call details is sent via SMS back and forth between the server and the Communicator so that the latest call details become the following visit`s call objectives. This is important in terms of ensuring that the representatives target the correct doctors with the correct products, thereby maximising each doctor`s exposure to the Ethicon products.

The hospital list contains a list of all hospitals in the representative`s region. All information regarding the hospital can be updated by the representative and then updated directly to the server where the CRM system resides.
