Johnson & Johnson Medical Middle East (JJMME) is a dominant player in the medical supply industry in the Middle East. It identified a need for a mobile CRM application to enable better understanding of the market, facilitate better planning and improve customer service.
"We evaluated a number of CRM applications from European and American sources," says Hussein Chaitani, Field Product Manager - Ethicon, "before selecting ILCLerumo to deliver the initial project. ILCLerumo was selected based on their ability to cost-effectively deliver a custom solution to our unique requirements."
The initial requirement was for a proof of concept to enable the feasibility of this kind of application to be proven in the field and to formalise the requirements for a final application.
ILCLerumo was approached based on its successful deployment of a similar solution for Johnson and Johnson Medical South Africa. ILCLerumo deploys a proven Microsoft-centric solution based on Celesta mBusiness Oy`s mBusiness Application. This solution enables the rapid deployment of complex device and network independent mobile business applications.
Celesta also offers strong, network independent connectivity solutions. "JJMME required GPRS, cradle and WiFi-driven connectivity to work in parallel," says Corrie de Jonge, Project Manager - ILCLerumo. "Other complications arose due to the reality that the Middle East comprises multiple countries and the application had to work seamlessly across multiple networks."
The Celesta solution, which offers both offline and online processing options, easily managed this complexity.
"The proof of concept was very successful," says Chaitani. "Pilot users were impressed with the ease with which previous manual tasks could be performed while management has access to a range of useful information not previously available. JJMME hopes to deploy the full application over the course of the next year."
