Software Performance Improvement (Pty) Limited (SPI) has partnered with QAD South Africa to provide its distributed output management solution, Optio, to manufacturers using QAD`s enterprise software, MFG/PRO.
Chris Anderson, managing director of SPI, says MFG/PRO is one of the most functional and comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions available on the market allowing manufacturers to integrate their manufacturing processes with sales, distribution and accounting.
"An output management solution adds significant value, in that such businesses can tailor the production and business documents generated by their enterprise applications to the specific needs of customers, vendors and business partners.
"With Optio, a manufacturer can deliver order documentation according to its individual requirements, directly from MFG/PRO, without incurring any hardware expense. And the application runs on a single, manageable server."
Moreover, Anderson says, invoices, remittance advices, and debtor statements can be faxed or e-mailed directly to the client rather than posting such documentation, thereby streamlining the accounting process.
"So Optio provides businesses using MFG/PRO with an appropriate, easily configurable output management solution that does not require customisation."
QAD serves a number of manufacturers in the automotive, consumer products, electronics, food and beverage, industrial, and medical products industries.
"The joint marketing agreement is the ideal opportunity to give enhanced exposure for SPI and its product offering into a larger client base," he says.
Bryan Nelson, managing director of QAD South Africa, says QAD required a world-class output management solution that could enhance the provision of its leading-edge technology in the marketplace.
"The Optio solution from SPI is not only relatively inexpensive, it also requires no complex integration for the manufacturer using MFG/PRO."
Nelson says another important consideration for QAD was that the output management solution should have a strong local presence and comprehensive local support, and SPI provides exactly that.
