JSE suspends JemTech share

IT solutions and services company Jem Technology Holdings` (JemTech`s) share has been suspended with immediate effect.

The JSE says the step was taken because the company did not submit its annual financial statements by the required date.

Calls to JemTech`s offices were unanswered this morning.

The company, which reported a loss of R2.5 million for the six months to 30 June 2000, restructured its operations after noting that its operating environment was generally depressed and not conducive for operating profit growth.

However, CEO Paul Cordier said at the time that concluded contracts, using proprietary software, would generate substantial annuity earnings in the next trading year.

The JSE says the suspension is pending a special meeting to consider the continued suspension and possible termination of the listing.

The JemTech share closed unchanged at 1c yesterday.
