Kano, Nigeria upgrades to digital
The Kano State government has installed two digital transmitters at the state's radio station, Radio Kano, reports All Africa.
The MD of the radio, Alhaji Ghali Sadik, says the transmitters would replace the 28-year old transmitters used by the radio station. "The transmitters were purchased with a view to meeting the deadline given by the National Broadcasting Commission that all broadcast stations must be digitalised by the year 2012."
The purchase and installation of the digital transmitters indicates that the state was ahead in complying with the NBC's directive of digitalising broadcast media in the country by 2012.
