Kemp scoops 2012 Network Computing Award

Kemp Technologies has picked up a prestigious UK Network Computing Award at the gala finals in London. Leigh Bradford, Kemp's UK sales manager was presented with the best Bench Tested Product of the Year Award for the LoadMaster 5500 application delivery controller (ADC), chosen by the editor of Network Computing Magazine, one of the UK's longest established computer networking publications.

Kemp's LoadMaster won praise in the review published last year: “With its latest product, the LoadMaster 5500 server load balancing appliance, they indicate a clear shift towards enterprises and service providers. All devices in the LoadMaster range stand out for their excellent value. The 5500 continues this tradition by offering a host of features at a price most of the competition will be hard pressed to match.”

The LoadMaster range of advanced Load Balancers and ADCs intelligently and efficiently distribute user traffic and offload and accelerate Layer 7 applications such as SSL security and content, to optimise Web and application servers. In addition to ensuring users get the best possible experience, LoadMaster hardware or virtual appliances give IT administrators greater control and enable them to easily adapt to network changes.

“Load balancing is a large and diverse topic and the sector appears to be evolving nicely. IP everything has really created a range of what could be called IP applications, and not all IP applications are created equal,” said Ray Smyth, Editor of Network Computing. “All organisations need to be able to manage all of their applications to meet the defined needs of their business. This was the sixth year that the Network Computing Awards have been run. Apart from the winners in three categories chosen by Ray Smyth, editor of Network Computing, all other winners were determined by online voting. More than 30 000 votes were cast by around 6 000 individuals, setting a new record for the Awards.
