Kemtek launches Cipher Lab range of fixed data terminals

Johannesburg, 09 Jun 2005

Kemtek, SA`s leading bar coding company and sole local distributor of PSC`s range of data capturing products, has launched the Falcon range of Cipher Lab fixed data terminals to the local market.

"The Cipher Lab range can monitor a wide range of activities around any business, with total speed and efficiency," says Kemtek`s Andre Smit. "They`re ideal for time, attendance and valid ID control with enclosed relays for opening and closing doors and gates and can monitor people leaving or entering premises."

In addition, he describes the Cipher Lab range as being perfect for production monitoring, as they ensure incomplete products do not leave production lines.

"The range is ideal for loyalty card applications, corporates, mines, chain stores and casinos in particular, where purchases and slot machine activity can be closely monitored."

5000/5100 T&A Data Terminal

Smit says this terminal has a graphics display of (128x64) and is able to show 8x4 lines, and is back-lit. "In addition, it offers powerful networking Ethernet 100 BaseT / RS232 / RS485. Its 1.8MB for data memory with backup battery, 8 digital I/O for external device monitoring and a built-in RFID reader."

He says it is battery operated when AC power is interrupted, has a validation table to control valid ID and is able to display name or employee number instead of card ID during swiping.

"Its OCX component and DLL supports TCP/IP, RS-232 and modem communication and can network up to 255 stations using repeaters."

520 Programmable Data Terminal

"This terminal supports 128x64 or 240x64 STN type graphic LCD display and has a memory of 128KB to 2MB," says Smit. It has up to four digital inputs and four digital outputs, optional barcode or magstripe readers and can network up to 99 stations using repeaters.

510 Programmable Data Terminal

The 510 has 20x2 characters display with tunable LED back-lit and adjustable viewing angle. "Its memory is 128KB to 512KB and has up to two digital inputs and 2 digital outputs. As with the 520, its has optional barcode or magstripe readers, and can also network up to 99 stations using repeaters."

605 Proximity Access Control Terminal

Smit says this code reader has a multi-interface of RS232, MSR Track I & II, or Wiegand 26-bit. "It has a reading distance of 10cm, a memory capacity of at least 1 200 card holders / 32KB and an RF EM Card Reader."
