Kingston Technology Company, Inc has announced the immediate availability of a 4GB DDR (Double Data Rate) PC2100 memory kit supporting the IBM eServer pSeries 630 models 6C4 and 6E4. Kingston products are distributed in southern Africa by African distributor Axiz.
The powerful IBM entry-level server incorporates DDR PC2100 and the new POWER4 technology. Kingston`s 4GB memory kit is comprised of four 1GB modules, allowing the entry-level pSeries 630 system to quickly and efficiently perform key business functions such as application management, transaction processing, database management and supply chain management. The server also has flexible deployment with both desk side and rack-mount models.
"Kingston has a number of years experience in building modules for key OEMs, and continues to be ready to support the latest technology for Unix-based systems. Kingston has a proven track record for reliability and dedication to this market," says Ian Rayner, Kingston Brand Manager, Axiz.
"Adding Kingston memory will enable users to take full advantage of the many benefits the eServer pSeries 630 has to offer. Also, with Kingston`s fully-compatible memory being up to 50% less expensive than the OEM, the many features of an eServer pSeries system become even more attractive."
The IBM eServer pSeries 630 system utilises Chipkill technology. Chipkill technology allows the system to detect memory errors and rewrites the data from the compromised memory chip to a different chip, then terminates the signal of the compromised chip. This technology helps reduce the risk of data loss, which often are associated with corporate financial loss.
Kingston`s design engineering team has added an extra layer of testing into the development of the module by working with one of Kingston`s IT partners, under non-disclosure. Kingston conducted real-world testing in a production IT environment to assure 100% compatibility with Chipkill technology.
Kingston Technology Company, Inc is the world`s largest independent manufacturer of memory products. Kingston Technology operates manufacturing facilities in Malaysia, Taiwan, China and Fountain Valley, California, including Payton Technology Corp, Kingston Technology`s back-end processing facility supporting memory packaging, test and logistics. With the advent of Payton, Kingston Technology supports all memory processing functions from receipt of wafer to completed module.
Kingston Technology serves a network of distributors, OEMs and retail customers in more than 3 000 locations worldwide. For more information on Kingston Technology, go to www.kingston.com/uk.
