Konica Minolta Printing Solutions Europe has introduced its latest colour laser multifunction device, the magicolor 2490MF.
Ideal for the small to medium office environment, the magicolor 2490 combines all vital office tools - print, copy, scan and fax - plus PictBridge, the camera direct photo print option, into one compact and convenient machine. With an internal network interface, it fits easily into corporate networks or it can be used as a combined printer/copier for workgroups.

Colour prints, copies, scans
The magicolor 2490MF is the all-round workhorse that enables users to print professional colour prints, copies, scans, fax documents and photos in laser quality. Featuring 2400 x 600 print quality, Konica Minolta Simitri Polymerised Toner and enhanced Automatic Image Density Control, it generates vibrant and consistent colours, crisp text, detailed graphics, smooth halftones, and razor-sharp photographs on a broad range of media. It prints at 20ppm in monochrome and 5ppm in colour, and copies at 12cpm in monochrome and 5cpm in colour. With 128MB RAM on board, even the most complex jobs are processed quickly.
Documents and photos can be scanned in detailed 24-bit colour, and sent directly as an e-mail via the network to a variety of recipients in any location without using a PC. The added feature of PaperPort from ScanSoft enables originals to be scanned in the maximum format of legal (A4+) at a resolution of 600dpi, and can be edited and saved in a variety of formats such as PDF, JPEG or TIFF. Scanning a monochrome original requires 9.4 seconds, and a colour scan 23 seconds. The scanner supports the WIA as well as the TWAIN-protocol. The magicolor 2490MF provides Super G3 fax capability, which sends and receives fax documents at up to 33.6Kbps.
PictBridge
The magicolor 2490MF is equipped with PictBridge functionality, which enables users to print photos directly from their PictBridge-compliant digital cameras. Photos can then be printed and rotated directly from the camera and adapted to the print format. Another option is to print an overview of all photos in thumbnail format from the camera's memory.

Easy to install, use
Designed with 'ease of use' in mind, the magicolor 2490MF comes with pre-installed supplies (4 500 pages monochrome toner and 1 500 pages colour toner) and auto-install software. The intuitive control panel puts all of the necessary functionality at your fingertips and the standard automatic document feeder provides time-saving, unattended copying and scanning.
Exceptional media handling
The magicolor 2490MF supports a wide range of media types found in the everyday office, such as standard paper, glossy and thick stock, transparencies, postcards, laser quality labels and photo media. An optional duplexer provides professional quality, two-sided documents as well as cost effective, two-sided copies from one-sided originals. A multi-purpose input tray of 200 sheets can be expanded with an optional input tray of 500 sheets.
