Bidvest company Konica Minolta South Africa has appointed Conrad van der Westhuizen as its new Newcastle branch manager.
Van der Westhuizen's career with Konica Minolta South Africa began in April 2005 when he joined the company as a pre-sales representative in the MISIX department at its Johannesburg head office. After a year and a half, he was appointed as a major accounts sales representative and operated from the company's Pretoria branch, prior to taking up his newest position as Newcastle branch manager on 1 June this year.
As part of his vision statement, Van der Westhuizen plans to assist Konica Minolta South Africa in attaining the position of market leader in office automation solutions by providing and maintaining service and technical excellence as well as having an in-depth understanding of the company's products and services.
"As branch manager, I am responsible for the management of the performance of the Newcastle branch through the supervision of local staff, leadership and the constant improvement of quality and productivity."
In this capacity, Van der Westhuizen will also manage the relationships between the different departments in the branch, ensure that sales representatives are properly trained, administrate budgets and performance appraisals and handle regional corporate social investment (CSI) and marketing initiatives.
