Konica Minolta South Africa (s)prints ahead of the competition

Johannesburg, 04 Oct 2012

Konica Minolta South Africa, a Bidvest company, has successfully defended its title as the number one supplier of multifunctional printers (MFPs) in the local market, in both colour and black and white product sales. This is according to an industry sales survey by market data specialist infoSource, which shows MFP sales in the first half of 2012.

"Total placements grew by an astonishing 17% when comparing the first half of 2011 to the first six months of 2012," says Marianna Gdanis, business unit manager at Konica Minolta South Africa. "Our black and white placements grew by 13.4%, which is significant, as this is typically considered a mature market within our industry, and our colour placements grew by an incredible 24.8% during the same period."

She adds that these figures are due to the company's sophisticated bizhub devices that provide the best value for money for medium-sized to large businesses in South Africa.

"Konica Minolta South Africa has proven its strong legacy and brand reputation in the market and our continuous focus on customer satisfaction has paid off. Our company's product and services capabilities have propelled us into an unparalleled market position in terms of the ability to integrate and customise business-specific solutions, such as our in-house-developed Microsoft SharePoint connector that embeds our bizhub devices directly into SharePoint for a tailor-made and automated workflow optimisation solution - a market first," says Gdanis.

"The company is extremely pleased with the results, and regards the efforts and hard work from all employees highly. Their energy and passion for our product, combined with world-class devices that are underlined by tangible sustainability technology, are proving to be a winning concept in this competitive market. Our clients can be confident that they are dealing with the leaders in both colour and black and white technology."

During the first half of this year, the company was also awarded the international Konica Minolta Distributor of the Year award, beating other territories across the globe (with the exception of the US and Europe). "It is the seventh year in a row that we have won, outperforming more economically developed countries," says Gdanis.

"Even so, we are not resting on our laurels. Konica Minolta South Africa is continuously investigating more areas where it can add efficiency to a business and enhance the working environments of clients."
