Kyocera Mita provides user-friendly, wide format printing and scanning

Johannesburg, 09 Sep 2006

Kyocera Mita has introduced the KM-3650w, a wide format digital multifunctional product (MFP) that prints and copies in A0 and offers optional scanning functionality.

The device is designed for all users requiring large format, including: architects, construction, engineering or manufacturing companies, copy shops, government bodies and other professionals - especially those who use CAD or CAM (computer-aided design or computer-aided manufacturing) in their work.

The KM-3650w combines ease of use with simple access. This network-ready MFP can be accessed from every workstation in the office and multiple users can access and administer the device from any Web browser. It features a large operating panel that has an adjustable stand-up design that can be angled for a comfortable view.

"For any size of business, this new MFP provides great advantages," says Jody Harrington, marketing manager at Kyocera Mita South Africa. "It provides high-end functionality and can save customers large amounts that would otherwise be spent on outsourced, specialised printing.

"As with all our products, the KM-3650w is easy to use, environmentally friendly and offers the lowest possible TCO. Its high quality scanning and printing, along with the wide format ability, gives customers an in-house printing works that can impact very beneficially on productivity as well."

To ensure precise scanning and to keep the original document dust-free, paper is fed into the device face-up. A manual bypass tray enables the user to print or copy on special media and to make quick copies easily. The MFP comes as standard with one paper roll, but there is an optional second roll available if the workload increases.

The KM-3650w prints or copies 2.6 A0 pages per minute. After a warm-up time of less than five minutes, the first printout takes 24 seconds. The standard print or copy resolution is 600 x 600 dpi. The standard memory capacity is 512 MB for processing and 80 GB HDD for storage.
