Kyocera Mita unveils the most affordable A3 desktop printer

Johannesburg, 24 Feb 2003

Document solutions company, Kyocera Mita South Africa (KMSA), has announced the local availability of the latest ECOSYS Laser Printer, the FS-6020, which offers the most affordable A3 desktop printing in the market.

The new FS-6020 is the most compact A3 printer in the market and its small footprint means that users can make the most of the workspace available.

It is the ideal solution for small to medium-size organisations including government offices and public authorities that require A4 and A3 printing of product information, balance sheets, construction drawings (for the CAD market), marketing charts, spreadsheets and excel worksheets.

"Cost-efficiency is at the heart of this printer`s design," says Wayne Holborn, General Manager, Kyocera Mita South Africa. "The FS-6020 performs at the lowest printing costs in its class, without compromising speed or quality."

The low total cost of ownership (TCO) and low cost per page offered by the FS-6020 is ensured by the long-life, cartridge-free technology used in all Kyocera Mita`s ECOSYS devices, which also minimise pollution and waste. It also uses long-life toner with a yield of 10 000 pages at 5% A4 coverage.

Using the PowerPC 405CX 200MHz processor, this compact device prints up to 20ppm for A4 and 11ppm for A3. High speed is matched by high quality with Fast 1200dpi resolution, which ensures a consistently high image quality at full speed.

Flexible paper handling on the FS-6020 means that it offers up to four additional 250-sheet paper feeders, alongside the standard 250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multi purpose tray. The total input capacity is 1 350 sheets and the six paper sources enable simultaneous use of up to six different media types (from A6 to A3) at any one time.

The standard configuration of the FS-6020 features a full speed USB 2.0 and an IEEE 1284 parallel interface to enable high-speed bi-directional communication between the printer and the PC. A wide variety of network interface cards can also be added including (Fast) Ethernet, Token Ring, Fibre Optic and wireless LAN (WiFi).

The powerful controller enables smooth printing of complex print jobs and the optional 340MB to 1GB Microdrive hard disc allows for the storage of print jobs in a rasterised format. As a result, quick and easy printing of frequently used documents such as pricelists, order forms, charts, etc is possible. What is more, because the data is stored in the hard disc, network traffic is reduced and productivity is increased.
