MB Technologies subsidiary, LAN Design, has announced the availability of ARCserve 2000 from Computer Associates, the next-generation data protection solution that provides serverless backup with integrated virus scanning and automatic signature updates.
"Organisations of all types and sizes in today`s dynamic, global e-business marketplace depend on computer technology to run their operations," says LAN Design product manager Neil Rosenthal.
"Systems ranging from applications to databases form the foundation for operational success. Consequently, safeguarding this information by implementing a storage management solution is the key to attaining and maintaining competitive advantage. Data loss affects the bottom line - missed business opportunities, unsatisfied customers, and most of all, forfeited revenue," he adds.
ARCserve 2000 features a Web-style GUI for remote, cross-platform, centralised management of all storage-related tasks; integrated virus scanning and curing with automatic signature updates; advanced Windows 2000 support, including Active Directory and COM+ database protection; full disaster recovery and active clustering support.
Enterprise scalability is further enhanced with a remote centralised ARCserve 2000 database. Centralised reporting, review of job logs and device management reduce cost and effort across the enterprise using a single administrative console.
"ARCserve 2000 is specifically intended to meet the ever increasing demands placed on e-businesses and the Internet economy," says Peter Malcolm, CA senior VP, storage business management. "With unparalleled features like serverless backup and virus detection and cure, ARCserve 2000 provides clients with a comprehensive enterprise data protection solution."
