Alison Carroll is the new face of Lara Croft. The competitive gymnast and ex-receptionist will serve as the live model for the action heroine for the next year. Her first appearances will promote Tomb Raider: Underworld, the latest instalment in the gaming franchise.
Underworld is the first game in the series designed to reflect the athleticism and real-world skills required of an adventurer. To prepare for the role, Carroll underwent a training regime that included survival, combat and semi-automatic weapons training, as well as world archaeology coursework.
"With her tremendous athletic ability, dance training and striking look, we feel Alison embodies all the assets required to be the live model of Lara Croft, and we are really looking forward to working with her," says Sarah Hoeksma, Eidos group marketing director.
Since her unveiling as the new face of Lara Croft, the 23-year-old Croydon babe has set the Internet aflame with praise of her suitability for the part thanks to her smouldering good looks and real-life gymnastic skills.
