Computron Software today announced the adoption of its AXSPoint Fusion product by Goodman Fielder, the largest Australian-owned food company. AXSPoint Fusion is being used to provide vital management information for improved business decision making.
As the largest Australian-owned food company, Goodman Fielder produces many of Australia`s and New Zealand`s most popular and well known brands, as well as products and ingredients for the food service, commercial and industrial sectors.
AXSPoint Fusion enables self-service information exchange over the web even when that information is coming from disparate sources, such as databases and report reports.
Today Goodman Fielder has manufacturing, marketing and distribution systems in more than 40 countries and employs about 15,000 people, many of whom are shareholders. Their major product areas include flour, bread and other baked goods, cereals, snack foods, margarine, edible oils, sauces, dressings, Asian cuisine, pasta, cake mixes, desserts, gelatine, starch and food ingredients.
Goodman Fielder`s original requirement, when signing the license agreements in Q2 99 and Q1 00, was for a quick, cost effective and efficient system to achieve the consolidation of sales results from three totally disparate systems. They required one view of the customer showing average sales by product groupings by week, month to date and year to date. They also required the system to be able to distribute the reports to users around the country.
"AXSPoint Fusion was an enabling solution, not just an improved solution.`` commented John Richardson, GST Project Manager at Goodman Fielder.
"We found the AXSPoint Fusion solution was very cost effective compared to potential alternatives and had the benefit of use for future applications which are now being realised,`` added Richardson. "It has made information quickly available to the managers for informed decision making.``
Goodman Fielder has now begun using the AXSPoint Fusion product for their taxation reporting to the Australian Tax Office. The AXSPoint Fusion TCR2000 module collates all the information required for the final Business Activity Statement (BAS), does the necessary merging and categorising, outputs this to the calculation worksheets and finally produces the BAS. In fact, it produces a BAS for the entire enterprise from the various BAS` of the individual companies within Goodman Fielder.
"Not only does TCR2000 automate this entire process but it gives us the security of providing the necessary checks and balances and of course provides an audit trail to substantiate our figures,`` said Richardson.
The next use of the AXSPoint Fusion product will be for statistical reporting to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. "We estimate that automating this entire process will free up at least 2 man weeks each month,`` added Richardson.
