Fujitsu has updated its line of Lifebook business notebooks.

The company says new built-in features make this range of notebooks well-suited to business people working around the clock. These features include anytime USB charge, the 0-Watt AC adapter and a scroll wheel.

According to Fujitsu, the Anytime USB Charge allows mobile business executives to power up devices with the notebook via USB, which means other chargers can be left at home. The range also includes notebooks weighing as little as 0.76kg.

It adds that the 0-Watt AC adapter saves wasted energy and protects notebook batteries from damage through over-charging because the adaptor shuts down completely when it is not in use.

The company says its scroll wheel, located next to the touchpad, allows for easy on-screen navigation because it eliminates the need for fiddly point and click. “Another feature, the integrated Intel display, makes it easy to display presentations on a big screen without wires.”

Finally, the modular bay, which is included in many Fujitsu Lifebook notebooks, allows users to insert a second battery, a second hard disk drive, a DVD/Blu-ray drive, or a weight saver. “The Lifebook P771 taken with the modular bay can provide up to 18 hours of battery life when a second battery is used,” the company explains.

Although now available in SA, says Fujitsu, the range will not be sold through outlets because the machines are aimed at corporate users, and pricing is dependent on the specifications selected by the client.
