LayerOne, the African distributor for Intellisync and Internet Solutions subsidiary, has launched its new Web site, www.layerone.co.za, showcasing several new lines of mobile solutions for the corporate and SME market.
The company, which was started in 2004 and focused initially on the provision of pushed-based e-mail solutions for South African companies, has extended its product offering to address the fast-growing mobile applications space.
Stuart Hardy, MD of LayerOne, comments: "It`s been a tough climb for LayerOne in the last two years as only a small percentage of the corporate market had recognised the need to mobilise company information such as e-mail. This, however, has changed substantially and today more and more companies are investigating the opportunity of creating more efficiency in their mobile workforce. As a result of this change, LayerOne has also evolved to now providing a much wider range of mobile solutions including mobilising company processes and applications and managing mobile devices in corporate companies."
LayerOne believes its Web site is crucial to the success of its business as most potential clients use this tool to establish a company`s competencies and evaluate its solutions before contacting it. Even though this is not a completely accurate way of establishing a company`s ability, it is certainly a way of gauging its focus and innovativeness in a particular industry.
"We have admittedly not put a lot of effort into our previous Web sites as we did not believe this would be an area clients would visit regularly. I was, however, surprised by the amount of companies that used our Web site to get a feel of what we did. On the one side this is great, but because our Web site did not completely represent our position and even passion in this industry, it became essential to redo the entire site. We worked with 1plus1, a South African marketing company specialising in design and feel, to redevelop our site, and we feel they where really able to capture the culture of the organisation and what we were trying to communicate. We feel the site we have created is informative and fun and hope that we can grow the use of it in the future," ends Hardy.
