LeadTrain concludes management buyout from Johncom

Johannesburg, 09 Aug 2006

LeadTrain, a provider of web-based solutions for the management and delivery of learning in organisations has concluded a management buyout from majority shareholder Johnnic Communications. As a leader in the South African media and entertainment sector, Johnnic Communications became involved with LeadTrain under its Digital division, which also includes I-Net Bridge and CareerJunction. The Johncom investment has allowed LeadTrain to grow its offerings and customer base from the start-up years to the point where they could operate independently.

LeadTrain is now jointly owned by founder and MD Richard Lilford, an employees` trust and the Corporate Competency Management Group (CCMG), which includes a significant BEE component, bringing LeadTrain`s overall BEE shareholding to 26%. LeadTrain will continue to provide its customers with the products and services it has until now, and will operate from the same premises.

This move allows LeadTrain more strategic and managerial freedom to pursue its vision of providing a one-stop shop for learning and development management and delivery. According to Richard Lilford, MD, "It is our hope that the increased flexibility will allow us to re-invigorate the energy that has allowed us to provide our customers with unique and innovative solutions".
