Government will hand over two PCs to the Boikgantsho Primary School in Mamelodi East tomorrow, as the school`s pupils won the "Consumer Talk" competition in August.
The competition, which is jointly hosted by the Gauteng Department of Finance and Economic Affairs (GDFEA) and the Department of Education, is aimed at creating a culture of responsible, sensible and smart consumers, who know their rights.
"By giving away these PCs, we hope to expose learners to IT from an early age. We also want to assist the learners in going forward with their studies and hope to create an interest in technology," says Percy Mthimkhulu, spokesperson for the GDFEA.
"The PCs will have Internet access and software," he says.
The GDFEA MEC, Paul Mashatile, will make the presentation.
