Learning consortium founder pledges e-learning support

(eLN) in 2012 - its 25th anniversary year - after being voted onto the board, The Charity Learning Consortium reports.

Baker brings with him more than 20 years' of experience in e-learning, and hopes his knowledge of creating and building The Charity Learning Consortium - the largest group of UK based charities collaborating to make e-learning affordable - will prove valuable in his new role.

More than 800 million people worldwide are on Facebook and 50% of them use the site at some point every day, The Guardian says.

Recent reports suggest that, in the UK alone, there are more than 30 million Facebook accounts - roughly half the population. It is the social network of choice for most people, so why not find a way to deliver e-learning to where people are already online? As the lines between work and social become ever more blurred, why can't staff learn where and when it suits them best to do so - and in their own time, if that is what they choose?

Baker will be talking about the lessons corporates can learn from charities, when he introduces a case study presentation about e-learning in The National Autistic Society, at Learning Technologies, on 25 January, in London, SkyNewsWire.com reports.

He has been so impressed by the economical and effective collaborative approach of The Charity Learning Consortium that he's launching an e-learning consortium for corporate organisations at the show.
