Lechabile, NJA form independent JV

Johannesburg, 14 Aug 2002

Lechabile IT Services and the NJA group of companies have formed an independent joint venture (JV) to focus on developing IT solutions in the public and private sectors.

[VIDEO]Lechabile MD Winston Mosiako says the companies pooled their resources on an investigation management project for the National Prosecuting Authority last year, and discovered synergies that suggested a permanent JV should be formed. "We feel there are many opportunities for us in the local and regional market through a JV such as this," says Mosiako.

"This joint venture brings together two giants of the SA IT industry," he says. "NJA brings application development skills, while Lechabile contributes project management and integration expertise.

Mosiako points out that the solution is also applicable in the private sector, for example during commissions of inquiry or audits, and for use by or insurance companies. He feels the local market for such solutions will be worth over R300 million next year.

The new JV, named Lechabile-NJA, will operate independently, and will be based at Lechabile`s Sandton offices. Mosiako says the JV will be fully representative of South African society, and, as such, will essentially be a black empowerment company.

Established in 1994, the NJA group encompasses NJA Computer Company, NJA Outsourcing, NJA Development Company, NJA Solutions and NJA Printing Solutions.
