Venture Computer, the sole distributor in Southern Africa for Lexmark International today announced the Visual Bar Code Designer for easy creation of PCL escape sequences or PostScript commands to print bar codes using the Optra Bar Code SIMM.
"This application removes the tedious guesswork and re-work of generating bar codes,`` said Richard Fearon, Business Director at Venture Computer. "The friendly, graphical user interface shows a preview of the bar code, and the software converts the preview into the required datastream automatically.``
Lexmark`s Optra Bar Code SIMM, an intelligent solution that enables printing of bar codes in a variety of industry standard formats is available for Lexmark`s recently announced Optra T and Optra W series of monochrome laser printers, in addition to supporting the previous generation Optra S and Optra Se laser printers.
Lexmark`s bar code support includes postal bar codes for multiple countries, as well as the 2-D bar codes, PDF417 and MaxiCode. Special fonts include OCR-A, OCR-B, the Euro currency symbol and manufacturing and electrical symbols.
