LG Electronics (LG), a major player in the South African appliance industry, received accolades in this year's Brand Trust Index Survey, conducted as part of Markinor's annual Sunday Times Top Brands Survey.
LG out-placed other competitors, taking 20th position overall and highest placed digital appliance brand. Although the category was not tracked this year, LG was also voted the number one brand in the 'Electric and Electronic Goods for Home Use' category for the fifth consecutive year, in last year's Sunday Times Top Brands Survey.
"As a relatively new entrant into the South African appliance market 12 years ago, these accolades reinforce LG Electronics' foothold in the domestic appliance market," says Michelle Potgieter, Marketing Director of LG Electronics South Africa.
"LG is currently the most trusted appliance brand, consistently scores top place in the electric and electronic goods category and this year achieved 11th place in the 'Coolest Brands' category".
The Brand Trust Index tracks 'trust performance' across 19 brand categories, while the Ipsos Markinor Sunday Times Top Brands Survey measures weighted awareness, trust and confidence and commitment to the brand, arriving at an overall Brand Relationship Score. "LG is proud to be voted the most trusted appliance and electronics brand by South African consumers in a market full of very reputable brands. The closest ranking industry competitor on the Brand Trust Index was a solid fourteen places behind LG," concludes Potgieter.
