LG to release mini-notebook
LG has revealed plans to unveil its new mini-notebook, the LG-X120, this month, says Zawya.
"More and more people are buying portable mini-notebooks, looking for fast and easy connectivity,” says Simon Lee, LG Electronics GM for Saudi Arabia. The LG-X120 is a portable computer that has 3G HSPA connection and a 160GB hard drive as well as a Smart-On screen which switches on in five seconds.
"With Smart-Link technology and a simple USB cable, LG-X120 connects to regular computers to share files or install new applications, easily accessing data even from the computer's CD or DVD drive,” adds H. C Lee, LG's product marketing manager in the IT department.
VistaOne consolidates virtualisation
VistaOne, a provider of WAN solutions, has entered into a strategic marketing partnership with Convergence Technology Consulting to provide virtualisation and consolidation solutions, reports TMCNet.
VistaOne will allow data from consolidated virtual servers and storage systems to traverse the WAN at LAN-like speeds.
Both companies expect to provide their customers with the efficiencies that server, desktop and storage consolidation and virtualisation offer.
Envivio supports mobile TV standard
Envivio, a video convergence solutions provider, has revealed that it's supporting the ATSC mobile DTV candidate standard for mobile television broadcast in the US in both its C4 convergence encoder and M2 mobile encoder, says Business Wire.
Envivio mobile broadcast TV encoders are deployed worldwide to broadcast TV services over a wide variety of delivery standards to mobile phones, portable media players and ultra mobile PCs.
Julien Sign`es, president and CEO of Envivio, says: “This flexibility has allowed operators to deliver many hundreds of mobile TV channels to millions of subscribers worldwide using a wide range of standards”.
